**July 2009 ~ In a group of typed notes provided by John C Hogg, DDS, it shows that David Samuel Hogg was the son of John Anderson & "Dora" Upton, not John Anderson & Sarah. It contains a note written by J.A. Anderson naming his children & who their mother was.

J Anderson Hogg Dies Sunday
Following an illness of several years, J Anderson Hogg, died early Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J T Tyler near Richland.
Funeral services were held at Richland Methodist church Monday morning at ten o'clock by Rev M B Brown assisted by J F Funderburk, pastor of Richland Baptist church.  Interment was in the church cemetery.  Active pallbearers were grandchildren of the deceased:  Upton Hogg, Horace Hogg, Preston and Cecil Hogg, John Anderson Tyler and Henry Monfort.
Mr. Hogg was 84 years old and was a son of Samuel and Amelia Hogg.  He was married to Miss Dora M. Upton in December 1868 and they lived many years in and near Buena Vista.  His wife preceded him in death about 15 years ago.
Mr. Hogg had been a member of the Methodist church since early manhood and was respected and admired by all who knew him. 
He is survived by ten children: D S Hogg, Plains; TA Hogg, Jaskson, MS; Mrs. J T Tyler, Demps Hogg Richland; Ed Hogg, Columbus; Mrs. P H Monfort, Buena Vista; Henry C Hogg, Mrs. I H Hart, Columbus; C M Hogg Buena Vista, Jess Hogg, Atlanta.
Thirty-eight grandchildren several great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild survive.
